Welcome to Bacton Bowls Club, we are situated in Rectory Road (leaving the village heading towards Haughley approx 200 yards from the Scout Hall just before the ‘s’ bend). There is parking in the grounds by the clubhouse. We have a large, six rink, natural grass playing surface.

For those wishing to play competitive bowls we run in four local leagues, these are Monday evening and Thursday evening in the Stowmarket Leagues, Tuesday evening in Suffolk Area D which is the Bury St Edmunds Area and Wednesday evening in the Ipswich Leagues which stretches to Framlingham to the north, Felixstowe to the east and East Bergholt to the south. So with the five leagues we are looking to fill 48 places each week during the playing season. We usually enter Knockout Cup Competitions in Stowmarket and Area D which are normally played on Friday evenings. Further to this we also have a number of inter club competitions for individual and team (pairs and triples) which run throughout the season with singles and pairs finals played on the last weekend of the season usually the second weekend of September.

For those wishing to play non-competitive bowls then there are rinks available every day except for Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings when maintenance is undertaken and occasional special days for tournaments as notified, obviously during match times a reduced number of rinks are available.

We offer a Full Membership which allows you the use of the green, clubhouse and entry into leagues and club competitions.  Current Price is £60 annually.  (School Students £15) there is an additional rink fee of £4 for every home league game played and for club competitions there is a charge of £3 per entry.

We also offer an Associate Membership (Social Member), which allows use of the clubhouse and entry to all social events and Saturday afternoon open drives/social bowling  which is normally the first Saturday of the month during the bowling Season, ie: April – September.  Current Price is £15 annually. Open drives are charged at £3 per drive.

The initial outlay on personal equipment, ie:  bowls, shoes and club shirt, is not small so for those people new to bowling we offer a starter fee of just £10 in the first year to help offset those costs.

If bowls is new to you, we would be happy to arrange a taster session on request.
